In our everyday life, there is a need to write, communicate, store, analyze and distribute information in activities we are involved in every time by using different devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and portable devices.

Over the years, technology related skill have been described using terms like ICT skills, technology skills, information literacy, etc. Due to the need for people or organization to go digital, people have been using the phrase 'digital competence’ in their day-to-day activities.

Digital Competence is the ability to show signs of technology related skills. It is the capability to make use of digital technologies in a significant way when working, relaxing, studying and for on a daily basis life. In addition, digital competence can be understood as the ability to assess technologies and stimulate community or groups to take part in the digital culture.

While thinking of digital transformation; start with digital competence as the preliminary stage in taking up digital technologies.
