Using Business Activity Monitoring with Oracle BPM

We all know Instagram is used for sharing photos and videos that you think your friends and customers will love. That said, there is a vast opportunity for small businesses to use Instagram to generate humanness to the brand. Instagram is a great way to promote your brand, connect the physical world with the online world and start a new product or service.
Business process analytics is a vital part of BPM. While building processes, there will be needed to define metrics and the analysis of these metrics provide valuable information about process execution. This information can be used to review and optimize existing business processes.
In this blog I will provide the required steps on how to configure BAM for Oracle BPM 12c process.
Start Weblogic Admin Server and access Weblogic Enterprise Manager (EM). EM can be accessed using the following URL pattern:
http://<host>:<port>/em
Login with the required user credentials to access the Enterprise Manager

After a successful login, access the Weblogic Domain menu and select System Mbean Browser.

Drop down the menu on the left as shown below and expand Application Defined Mbeans > Oracle.as.soainfra.config
Select and expand the managed server hosting your SOA/BPM components under AnalyticsConfig.

When opened, look for the attribute DisableProcessMetrics and change the value for the attribute to false.

After the change, click the Apply button so save your change on the system.

With this change to the System MBeans, your Oracle BPM processes will automatically push data that can be viewed from BAM.
If you have an existing process, you need to redeploy the process for mandatory artifacts for runtime analytics to be created and published to BAM. Also, your BAM managed server must be running for the data to be published.
